How to Choose Your Perfect Wedding Venue

Choosing a wedding venue is often one of the first things on the minds of newly engaged couples. Here are a few tips for choosing the perfect wedding venue. First of all, a huge congratulations to you and your boo. I want to help you decide on the perfect wedding venue for you! Hopefully, you will find these tips helpful in planning your big day.

Choose a venue that aligns with your vision.

Your venue should fit the vibe that you are dreaming of for your wedding day.  When you imagine saying “I do” and dancing the night away with your hubby or wife, what type of place do you imagine?  Is your ideal setting formal and classic or rustic and chic? Can you see your guests celebrating under the open sky or would you rather have an indoor wedding venue with a view?  Knowing what you’re looking for is the first step towards finding your perfect venue.

Pick a venue that reflects who you are as a couple.

Choosing a venue that aligns with your wedding vision is important, but it should also reflect you as a couple.  Although you might be drawn to any number of wedding styles, the most important thing is to make your wedding day unique to reflect your relationship.  Maybe there is a place that the two of you feel has very special meaning. Even if there is not a specific venue that is significant to the two of you, when touring venues, try to pick out little things that reflect your relationship.

Choose the right size venue.

Depending on the size of your guest list, the number of venues available will change.  Whether you are looking for a large wedding celebration or an intimate wedding with just those closest to you, You should be able to find a venue that is the right size for your special day.  Some venues may also be able to accommodate extra guests depending on how the space is set up. Make sure to ask about all of the options that each venue offers for spaces.

Know what is included.

Depending on the venue, different amenities may be included in the rental.  For example, some venues offer chairs and tables with the rental price. Other venues may require that you rent tables and chairs from another business or charge extra to rent tables and chairs.  Some venues also include set up hours, bridal suites, outdoor spaces, and other amenities. What is the venue’s policy on catering? Do they require an open bar? Often these little perks add up individually, so finding a venue that offers amenities that you are looking for will help you find the perfect spot for your wedding day.

Prioritize.

Sadly, you may not find the one perfect venue that is exactly the right budget, the precise size you dreamt of, and includes every little thing you are looking for. Don’t be discouraged; be prepared. Prioritize and decide the selling points that are most important to you.  Is it most important to stay under budget or to have the venue be as close to home as possible? Sitting down and discussing your priorities with your fiancé — and possibly family who may be helping you plan your wedding — will help you find the right venue!

I really do hope these tips for choosing a wedding venue will help you find the ideal venue for your wedding.  For wedding planning inspiration , check out my wedding galleries here.
